Questions
These questions were posted at Jen's Blog - Life Begins at Thirty.
Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says.
"When they praise the 'faith' of Abraham, they are not commending his orthodoxy (the acceptance of a correct theological opinion of God) but his trust, in rather the same way as when we say that we have faith in a person or an ideal." (Karen Armstrong, History of God)
Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Clothes in my closet, the sliding door isn't all the way closed.
What is the last thing you watched on TV?
William Hung performing outside in New York. I think the show was Good Morning America. I never watch it but I was staying at a friend's house the other day and it was on. Normally my answer would be either a West Wing rerun or Queer Eye.
With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Crickets, wind chimes, a dog barking and women's voices from my mother's AAUW (American Association of University Women) meeting downstairs. I'm at my parent's house right now.
When did you last step outside?
2 hours ago on my way home from yoga class.
Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
Comments left on my recipe websie. And then Jen's blog because she had left a comment.
What are you wearing?
Navy blue running shorts, a skimpy power yoga t-shirt that my friend Bar Littlefield gave me from her On-the-Mat yoga school, a light lime green fleece. Wonderfully unattractive but comfortable combination.
Did you dream last night?
Yes.
When did you last laugh?
A few hours ago, from reading my favorite weblog these days - The Amateur Gourmet.
What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Gym schedule, an old Japanese scroll calendar with wonderful illustrations and sayings that are translated into English. What shows now is "If you don't get your feet wet you get no fish". A crucifix. A large lithograph of a landscape my artist sister and her artist boyfriend made almost 20 years ago.
What is the last movie you saw?
Bridget Jones Diary. It's the 6th time I've seen it. This time I watched it with my dad who had just finished the book and was dying to see the movie. It's still hilarious and I can't wait for the sequel to come out (the movie that is, I've already read the book).
If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
Definitely a house. The question would be where?
Tell me something about you that I don't know:
I love stamps. I used to collect them when I was a kid and I still have my collection.
Do you like to dance?
Yes. I love to dance.
Would you ever consider living abroad?
Yes, I have already - Japan. I would live abroad again, but not permanently. I would miss my family too much to stay too far away for too long.
